Baratang, Aug 22: As the Baratang Island is the entry point of North and Middle Andaman, the District Administration of N&M Andaman, under the leadership of Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, the Deputy Commissioner of NMA, has made very professional arrangements to identify and quarantine incoming passengers, at Baratang Island.
It has been observed that on arrival of vehicle ferry vessels at Nilambur Jetty of Baratang, multiple announcements are made by staffs of NMA District Administration urging ATR passengers, having Baratang as their destination, to register their names.
Once names are registered, the passengers are asked to remain under quarantine for 3 days and not to roam outside. Quarantine notices are also pasted outside the houses of each such passenger at Baratang, for information of neighbours and others.
Other than this, each passenger is getting calls multiple times from staffs of NMA District Administration regarding the quarantine period.
Unlike city, in places like Baratang people live in deep and remote pockets and reaching to every person entering Baratang Island and keeping an eye on them is not an easy task, but the team of revenue Rangat Subdivision under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner, Mr. Piyush Karan Singh, DANICs is performing this task very professionally to keep people of N&M Andaman safe from COVID-19.
