Port Blair, Aug 13: It is brought to the notice of Secretary Education & Director Education by the UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights that, in the on-going COVID-19 pandemic morbidity and mortality has mainly been seen in adults but on the basis of survey reports, children also face a greater risk of infection or are at greater danger from a COVID-19 infection from an anticipated third wave. Hence they need special care and observation, the mothers have the responsibility to do so.
The Geographical condition of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is different from other states. Transferring a lady Government servants with minor child to hard areas like Nicobar Districts where from last one year transportation system has been closed in order to protect tribal people. Children may face greater risk with working at unknown places during this pandemic. Due to COVID-19 pandemic conditions, the children who are going to attempt Board Exam are under depression and need special care, everyday counselling by the parents is much needed. Therefore, the mother of such children should not be transferred to other Islands for the sake of child and its future.
In this regard the UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights A & N Islands requested the Secretary (Education) that not to be posted any lady Government Servant to the remote area whose children going to attempt the Board Examination.
