Port Blair, May 18: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed gratitude towards the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman for accepting his request for providing permission for farmers residing in containment zone to transport their farm produce to Port Blair.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi earlier on 17th of May 2021 had written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District informing him that farmers residing in the recently announced containment zones were facing grave problems as their farm produce was getting damaged because of unavailability of any medium of transport. He had mentioned in his letter that the pandemic has brought several financial problems for farmers and they need dire support of the Administration.
He had requested the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman to allow farmers of containment areas to transport their produce to Port Blair for sale in markets.
