Port Blair, Apr 29: Dr Angel Bhati Chauhan, the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman District today said that it is necessary that the people of A & N Islands must understand the seriousness of this pandemic situation. “Until and unless public cooperates with Administration, we can’t fight against the virus effectively,” she said.
The DC said that Administration is doing its best and she is happy that people of North and Middle Andaman District are cooperating with the District Administration and following all Covid-19 protocols. “People are also participating in the vaccination drive conducted by administration in good number” she added.
She pointed out that still some irresponsible people are found violating the Covid-19 protocols, against whom, strict action has been taken.
The DC urged public that as responsible citizens they should keep an eye on the surroundings and remain vigilant. They should inform immediately if they find anyone violating COVID-19 protocols.
She said that Andaman and Nicobar Administration has ordered fresh consignment of vaccines for the Islanders, as soon as the administration receives the delivery, the Administration will start vaccination of people of 18-44 years age group. Meanwhile the people who have been vaccinated and their date for 2nd dose of vaccination is coming, they must take their 2nd dose of vaccination too.
“We are working for the special arrangement of buses for teachers who want to go to their home for summer vacation’’ the DC NMA added.
