Port Blair, Oct 21: On 20th October, 2012, Mr. Sharma who is also a Social worker and Patron of Chetana, a Socio cultural organization of the Islands, has attended the Breast Cancer awareness programme of “Chetana” in the Panchayat hall of Hope Town.
In his brief speech Mr. Sharma has stated that such programmes will certainly benefit the womenfolk of rural area who usually ignore their problems of health due to busy schedule of their household works. He was of the opinion that there should be patient’s awareness programme like this which the Chetana has taken in its hands. He has also thanked Dr Ritika Gupta, Advocate Haleema Bibi and two attending nurses who have devoted themselves for this selfless service.
Mr. Durg Vijay Singh Deep, Member of Monitoring Committee of Chetana, Ghanshyam Singh, General Secretary, Dhansekharan, Asst Director, PIB and Smti Rashida Bibi, Pradhan of Home Town were also present there and spoke on the occasion. On this very day Mr. Sharma has also laid a stone for the building of Vidhwa Ashram at Sippighat being run by Tirtha Welfare Trust as a Chief Guest and opined that the distressed widow will now be able to get a shelter for a peaceful life.
