Port Blair, March 04: Mr. Abdul Siddique, former Pramukh of Mayabunder Panchayat Samity has demanded to schedule M.V. Coral Queen for Diglipur via Mayabunder and return, so that the people of Mayabunder can avail the benefit of traveling in M.V. Coral Queen. He also demanded that ticket quota also should be fixed separately for the people of Mayabunder.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary (Shipping) A&N Administration, Mr. Abdul Siddique demanded to provide the services of M.V. Coral Queen with fixed quota of tickets for the people of Mayabunder.
Mr. Abdul Siddique further mentioned that the general public of Mayabunder has been struggling since last decades for continuous passenger boat services for Mayabunder region.
He wrote that the sailing of M.V. Coral Queen to Mayabunder was discontinued since 26/11/2020. He requested to resume the services of M.V. Coral Queen especially for the patients who are referred from Mayabunder to G. B. Pant Hospital for further Medical consultation and treatment.
Mr. Siddique also pointed out that it is the cheapest means of transportation for all class/age of people.
“There should be weekly regular services of M.V. Coral Queen Ship, as it was before,” he demanded.
He also pointed out that presently the speed boat which is being provided for Mayabunder is not convenient as there is no bunk and cabin facility in the speed boat and the air conditioning is also not functioning.
Also to be precise he mentioned that the present condition of ATR road is very horrible and is expensive in comparison for a person who travels by boat he added.
He wrote M.V. Coral Queen is schedule to sail for Dilipur it should be sailed via Mayabunder to and fro so that the people of Mayabunder can avail the benefit of M.V. Coral Queen and ticket quota also should be fixed separately for the people of Mayabunder.
