Port Blair, Mar 04: The Election Commission today held a public draw of lots at 10.00 AM in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Port Blair, to allocate the seats reserved for women in Gram Panchayats in South Andaman District (including Campbell Bay), Zilla Parishad, South Andaman and PBMC for the forthcoming General Elections to these local bodies.
According details available here as per the results of public draw of lots, Ward No. 7- Prem Nagar, Ward No. 8 –Buniyadabad, Ward No. 10 –Shadipur, Ward No. 12 –Nayagoan, Ward No. 20 –Austinabad, Ward No.21 –Brookshabad, Ward No. 23- Prothrapur to Kamaraj Nagar and Ward No. 24-Bathubasthi have been declared reserved for women.
Similarly among 30 panchayats of South Andaman 10 seats in 10 panchayats have been reserved for women, which are Bambooflat-2; 2.Chouldari; 3.Hope Town; 4.Rabindra Nagar; 5.Brindavan; 6.Neil Kendra; 7.Collinpur; 8.Sippighat; 9.Mannarghat and 10.Rama Krishnapur.
Other than this Campbell Bay, Panchayat has also been reserved for woman in Nicobar District.
As per details six seats of Zilla Parishad in South Andaman have also been reserved for women, which are 1.Bambooflat; 2.Chouldari; 3.Sippighat; 4.Shore point; 5.Laxmi Nagar and 6.Tushnabad.
The Election Commission shall also hold a public draw of lots on 05.03.2021 at 11.30 am in Community Hall, Zilla Parishad, Mayabunder to allocate the seats reserved for women in Gram Panchayats in North & Middle Andaman and Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman.
