
Port Blair, Feb 22: As part of COVID-19 vaccination to Health Care Workers (HCW) and Front Line Workers (FLW) of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, vaccination sessions are undertaken at health institutions of all the three districts in this Union Territory.
This Directorate of Health Services has received a total of 77500 doses of Vaccine so far for the vaccination of our Health Care Workers and Frontline Workers of all line departments as well as for defence to safeguard them while discharging their duties in this COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Till now, a total of 3800 HCWs out of 5210 registered including defence and 1836 of 10170 registered FLWs excluding defence have been vaccinated with the 01st Dose of COVID-19 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Phase – I. Also, a total of 2099 HCWs have been vaccinated for the 02nd dose of COVID-19 Vaccine in Phase – II.
The Andaman and Nicobar Administration is fully focused to achieve maximum coverage of vaccination in UT. In this context today, a total of 61 Frontline Workers of Car Nicobar have been vaccinated with the first dose of COVISHIELD as initiation of vaccination of Frontline Workers in outer islands.
