Port Blair, Feb 22: The NHIDCL has started road construction work at Baratang Stretch of Andaman Trunk Road, which is in horrible shape since last nearly a year.
According to the contractors one KM road, which is from 114 KM to 115 KM of ATR, has been completed and now the next part to be attended will be from 118 KM (Lorazig area) of Baratang.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Bhasker Rao one of the project managers of NHIDCL contractor said that as per the directors of DC North and Middle Andaman, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, NHIDCL is completing week road sections first so that even if Monsoon comes, the ATR passengers will not face much problems at Baratang area.
“DC madam has given us target of March 15, 2021 to complete Baratang road stretch, which we will fulfill,” he added.
He said that the next target area is Lorazig Village of Baratang (118 KM) and after that the section 124 KM to 127 KM, near Adazig village will be taken up.
