Billyground, November 08: Although the pandemic paused everything in the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands, it didn’t stop the Veterinary Unit of Swadeshnagar to continue its good services for the welfare of general public.
The Agriculture farmers from Basantipur, Harinagar, Swadeshnagar, Sivapuram till Panchwati were catered at all times on requests by the unit, which has been highly appreciated by the farmers. “The unit never delayed responding,” said a farmer.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Dr. R. K. Singh, Senior Veterinary Surgeon, In-charge, Swadesh Nagar Veterinary, and Animal Husbandry unit said that despite the pandemic unit achieved success in 112 Artificial inseminations, 1950 Poultry Vaccination, 164 castration cases, 4347 Livestock cases, and 28300 poultry cases.
Dr. Singh further added that recently the unit got a Mobile Veterinary Van from the administration which makes them respond to any call promptly. “I thank the administration for the Van,” Dr. Singh said.
