Port Blair, June 16: An emotional farewell was given to the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar on 15th June 2020 at 04:00 pm. Superintendent of Police, North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Vichitra Veer, Additional District Sessions Judge, Mr. Shailendra Singh, Adhyaksh, North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. Dipankar Mistry appreciated the approach of the outgoing DC towards the development of the region.
Additional District Sessions Judge, Mr. Shailendra Singh spoke on behalf of the people present during the occasion said that it was the effort of the outgoing DC that the entire North and Middle Andaman region is till now free from the Coronavirus.
“It is his efforts here following which his need was felt in Delhi to fight against the virus,” the he added.
Mr. Awanish Kumar in his farewell speech said that all the success he witnessed here is only because of the support and cooperation of the public and his subordinates. He expressed his gratitude for the farewell ceremony organised for him.
As per details, Mrs. Angel Bhati Chauhan will take charge of DC N & M Andaman soon. The outgoing DC, Mr. Awanish Kumar left for Delhi today at 11:00 am.
According to public Mr. Awanish Kumar is considered as one of the best DC, North and Middle Andaman ever had. Right from Adhayksh N & M Andaman Zilla Parishad, Up-Adhyaksh, N & M Andaman Zilla Parishad to public, most of the Islanders are highly impressed with the quick decision making abilities and friendly approach of Mr. Awanish Kumar.
“This is very hard to get such a public friendly Deputy Commissioner for these remote Islands,” said Mr. Alager Swami, the Up-Adhyaksh, N & M Andaman Zilla Parishad.
