Port Blair, June 14: The NSUI State President of A&N Islands, Mr. M.A Sajid has expressed his sincere gratitude towards Pondicherry University for promoting 1st and 2nd year students without conducting exam. NSUI has started a campaign in all India level named “#Promote Students, Save Future”, under which all State Presidents of NSUI of different states and UT’s has approached their respective State/Central University to promote college students on basis of Internal Assessment marks. Based on this campaign, Mr. M.A Sajid contacted Mr.Kalyan Sundaram State President of NSUI Pondicherry drawn their attention towards the genuine issues faced by the students of A&N Islands. Mr. Sajid has highlighted that the syllabus of students are not yet completed by the colleges here and online education here is just a dream for students. Colleges of here are conducting online classes for just name sake through Whatsapp and there is no visual learning provided to students as of colleges in mainland. The ground reality is that online education in A&N Islands is unsuccessful. Students of inter-islands are not even able to download notes online. Acting immediately on this matter, The NSUI Pondicherry has brought this matter to the knowledge of Mr. Narayan Sami, the Chief Minister of Pondicherry & Mr. Kamala Kannan Education Minister after which it was decided to promote the 1st and 2nd year students. Mr. Sajid has also promised that he will try his level best for promotion of final year students also. Mr. Sajid has also thanked Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, the Chief Minister and Education Minister of Pondicherry, Miss Mamatha Nerlige, National Secretary of NSUI, State President, NSUI Pondicherry, for supporting the genuine demand and taking decision in students interest.
