Port Blair, June 02: Again a youth of Andaman has made Islanders proud by lending a helping hand to thousands of Indians stranded in the United States of America, including some Andaman residents too.
Mr. T. Babu Rao, Head Constable, Andaman, and Nicobar Police posted at the Consulate General of India, San Francisco, since last year as Indian Base Security and Protocol Officer has been successful in helping thousands of Indians to evacuate from the United States of America.
Many Islanders who have their relatives and wards feel a bit secure with his presence in the Indian embassy at San Francisco as he helps everyone when required.
Currently, Mr. Babu Rao is trying to help a 58 years old lady of Lambaline, Port Blair, an employee of ANSCB who went to her daughter’s residence at Premont, Texas but due to the lockdown, she remained stranded.
As per sources, Mr. Rao is helping the 58-year-old lady for her documentation to travel back to India, “if things go well she may get the chance to fly on 11th June 2020,” said Mr. Rao while talking to Andaman Sheekha over the phone.
According to Mr. Rao, there are all together 30-35 thousand Indians stuck in the USA.
As per the details available with Andaman Sheekha, on 09th May 2020 from San Francisco International Airport, 225 Indians were sent to Mumbai, on 13th May 2020 again 225 Indians were sent to Delhi and Bengaluru from San Francisco Airport, on 19th May 2020, 227 Indians were sent to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi from San Francisco Airport while on 23.05.2020, 227 Indians were again sent to Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Delhi from the San Francisco Airport.
“Entire staffs in the Consulate General of India, San Francisco, are duty-bound to help the countrymen and we are feeling great about helping our countrymen,” said Mr. Rao.
