Port Blair, Apr 07: The outbreak of COVID-19 over the world including Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Her Holiness Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, the Sant Nirankari Mandal, New Delhi (HQ) immediately suspended all Samagam & Satsang programme and directed to help with all possible assistance such as distribution of Community Food and even instructed to accommodate victims in the Satsang Bhawan as a Relief.
Immediately, from 5th April, 2020 (Sunday) onwards, the volunteers of Sant Nirankari Mandal, branch Junglighat, Port Blair considered humanitarian responsibility to distribute raw ration food items to the needy people. The Relief Packets containing 5 kg. Rice, 2 Kg. Atta, 1 Kg. Dal, 1 Kg. Salt, 1 Ltr. edible oil and 1 Pkt. of Turmeric powder were distributed amongst 187 poor and needy families at Chouldari Gram Panchayat in the various villages viz. Gopal Nagar, Nimbu Bagicha, Bachra Pahar, Naya Basti, Port Mout, Lal Pahar, Crekabad, Chouldari School Pahar and few migrated workers. All distribution were performed by the Nirankari Volunteers in uniforms from Chouldari branch following all safety norms as per the direction from Administration.
The Sector In-charge, Sector No. 13, A&N Islands, Shri Satya Narayan Ji greeted to the Gram Pradhan, Chouldari, Shri Mohan Halder, Up Pradhan, Shri Ashim Baidya and Sarpanch Shri Bhajan Joydhar for their valuable support on marking those poorer and needy people.
During the start of distribution, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Chouldari has commended the initiation taken up by the Sant Nirankari Mission. He also appreciated the responsibility performed by Sant Nirankari Mission during Tsunami. All Nirankari volunteers stand before the villagers of Chouldari at all times whenever such natural calamity arises.
Even while distributing packets volunteers instructed the people to maintain social distancing, washing hand for 20 second with soap in a short interval and Stay Home, Stay Safe. The packets were distributed on door to door basis covering Widows, Physically Challenged persons, poorer and daily wage workers. The whole drive was under the control and guidance of Shri Mohan Prasad Shaw Ji, Zonal Incharge, Zone No. 45, Kolkata.
