Port Blair, Apr 03: Amid nationwide lockdown, in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak, the Shaheed Dweep police on Friday distributed Masks to all local villagers who are deprived from such facilities due to its high demand and non-availability in local shops/hospital (PHC Shaheed Dweep).
According to villagers of Neil Island, the lady SHO, Inspector Shabana Haneef took over the responsibility of making masks all by herself to serve the needy people and to protect her jurisdiction from this epidemic disease. Showing her commendable gesture the SHO somehow managed to make the masks with the help of a local resident namely, Mr. Pradeep Chand Das R/o Neil Kendra (Tailor).
Understanding the need and importance of mask to combat with Covid-19, a special drive was carried out at Neil Kendra market area where the masks provided to one and all maintaining a meter distance from one another.
For those senior citizens or home makers who could not get those masks, a door to door delivery was also carried out to ensure 100% protection in Shaheed Dweep.
