Port Blair, March 30: After 10 positive cases have been found positive in these Islands, the Andaman and Nicobar Police are letting no stone unturned to protect the other residents from the COVID-19 virus.
Several steps to contain the virus from spreading has been taken by all units of Andaman and Nicobar Police and the police personnel have pulled their socks up to follow the instructions given by their superiors.
Making announcement for people to maintain social distance by hiring Auto Rickshaws, drawing boxes in front of the General stores, petrol pumps for people to stand, so that proper distance could be maintained and creating awareness among the shopkeepers to keep a bucket of water outside the shops are some of the major steps taken by the police units of all areas in South Andaman region.
Day in and day out, SHO Chatham Police Unit, Sub Inspector Gaurav Banerjee, SHO Aberdeen Police Unit Inspector Sanjay Singh, SHO Pahargaon Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav and SHOs of various other Police Stations were found to be monitoring all these works, in their jurisdiction.
Not only this, a few Deputy Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police have also been allocated jurisdictions to keep a watch on all these areas whether people are following the rules or not.
