Port Blair, Mar 02: An awareness program was conducted by District Child Protection Unit (S/A) on Juvenile Justice Act and POCSO Act on 28th of February at Shoal Bay Gram Panchayat. The said program was organized for the teenager students and parents of the village. Smti Suparna Biswas Legal cum Probation Officer of District Child Protection unit had sensitized the gathering about the importance of the POCSO act and also explained the important provision of the act.
Smti G.Mini Member of Juvenile Justice Board explained about the Juvenile Justice Act. The program was followed by a speech competition for the students and prizes were distributed to all the participants. Smti Mary Pushpa Pradhan of Shoal Bay proposed vote of thanks. The whole program was coordinated by Smti N. Sabeena councilor of the unit.
