Betapur, Feb 04: Today a massive agitation was organised by public and PRI members infront of Shivapuram Panchayat Bhavan in connection the last month’s car accident in the area, which killed to ladies of the village.
The protestors were alleging that the police did not conduct inquiry in proper way against the car driver, Mr. Mithun Gain and has put normal sections of IPC against the driver because of which the driver got immediate bail from the court.
Public demanded to add more hard sections against the drunken driver so that the driver may not get any relief from Court. Further they added that the Police officer who misbehaved with public during the day of accident should be punished and also should immediately be transferred from PS Billyground.
Finding the situation going out of control, in absence of DC in the station, Mr Mohan Kumar the Assistant Commissioner (HQ) arrived at Shivapuram and heard the public and assured them that the administration is ready to hear their all grievances sympathetically and within the line of constitutional provisions.
He asked the PRI members to submit their grievances and demands in writing to the District Administration. After getting the assurances from Assistant Commissioner, Pradhan, and all PRI Members along with villagers withdrew their agitation. The agitation continued for nearly five hours.
