Great Nicobar, Feb 02: In a yet another sad incident, a girl of around 14 years has been raped by her step father on 31st January, 2020 at Campbell Bay.
As per reports, the victim usually stay with her maternal aunt after the second marriage of her mother but few days back the victim went to see her mother, who is sick.
As per sources, on 31st Jan, 2020 when the victim started for school from her mother’s house, her step father asked her to sit on his bike and told her that he will drop her to school but instead of dropping her to school, the step father turned the direction of the two- wheeler in a forest and committed rape with 14 year old.
It is learnt that after committing the rape the step father dropped the victim to the school and left. However, the attentive teachers in the school analyzed the terror in the victim’s face and when they quizzed the girl, the girl disclosed the reality.
According to sources, the matter was then reported in the Campbell Bay Police Station and after the entire days search the police failed to trace the culprit.
According to Police sources, next day morning on 01st Feb, 2020, the culprit himself called the Campbell Bay Police and admitted the crime, he did and also got ready to surrender but while he was on his way to the Police Station to surrender himself, he met with an accident.
The accused is currently hospitalized at CHC Campbell Bay and it is learnt that the Police will take him into custody after he recovers from the injuries.
