Port Blair, Jan 03: While Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has been stressing on Digital India, in Andaman and Nicobar Islands due to poor service of BSNL, the Islanders are unable to reap any benefit of this Digitalisation.
For example there was almost nil mobile network in major part of Car Nicobar since last nearly seven days. Today people got BSNL network in the Island but Mobile Data is still missing.
Administration is keen on sending more and more government servants to Nicobar District and also is also trying for all round development of Nicobar Group of Islands but without proper telecommunication how system will work.
Perhaps this is the reason why people are so afraid of serving Nicobar District on transfer. Negligence of officials and lack of supervision are the main reason why people of Nicobar District are suffering so much.
Worst sufferers are those who leave their family behind and serve in remote Nicobar District and often fail to even contact own family members, even in case of urgent need.
