Port Blair, Jan 03: In several parts of Port Blair city earth digging works for laying OFC along main road are in progress. Sadly in some places the road digging works are either taking too much time or the works are being carried out in so careless manner that it is causing traffic chaos.
Port Blairians experienced several hour long traffic jam on Corbyn’s Cove road on New Year Eve because of such road digging works. Right from Chakkargaon road to Police Line road, road digging works are causing huge inconvenience to public.
The A & N Police and Administration must constitute a team to keep an eye on such works and must ensure that such road digging works are completed in a time bound manner.
