Port Blair, Nov 25: Mr. Sugandh Shekhar, a resident of Dignabad Port Blair has finally, after a lot of struggle succeeded to leave his mark in the Telugu Film Industry, as a singer, making Andaman and Nicobar Islands proud.
As per reports, Mr. Sugandh Shekhar got this golden opportunity through Mr Bharath Manchiraju, a renowned music director of Telugu Film Industry after he saw his performances in Facebook handle.
The audio of the film ‘Oka Chinna Viranam’ has already been launched in YouTube and the trailer of the movie has also been launched. The song in which, Islands’ youth Mr. Sugandh Shekhar performed in the film is ‘Yegire Gaalipatam’ that is getting a very good response from the audience.
Born and brought up in the Islands, Mr. Sugandh Shekhar pursued his graduation in Chennai in the year 2009, he also worked for an automobile company in Chennai after his graduation but being unsatisfied with what he was doing, he left his job and decided to pursue his career in Music, which was his dream.
He then started learning ‘Hindustani Classical Music Vocals’ in KM music conservatory that’s under AR Rahman. “It was very difficult during that time, I started learning music at the time when I was also under pressure to earn as well, I left my job and I was financially stressed,” said Mr Sugandh.
Mr Sugandh gave the credit of his success to his parents who never left hope on him and also to his close friends who helped him in all difficult times.
Though, this is the first performance of Mr. Sugandh in Tollywood but earlier in the past also, Mr. Sugandh has rocked the stage in the IPL 2017 Opening ceremony. “After the performance in the IPL Opening Ceremony, I got a lot of confidence and I never looked back after this,” said Mr Sugandh.
Mr. Sugandh is currently a part of AR Rahman’s Sufi Ensemble and his band ‘Sugandh Musical Band and Sufi Ensemble’ is performing in various parts of Chennai and outside. He also does chorus recordings and independent albums and many track recordings that is getting released at a smaller scale.
