Port Blair, Nov 15: The Andaman and Nicobar State Conference of CITU will be held at Port Blair on 16th and 17th November, 2019. The Open Session of the two-day Conference will be held at 4.30 p.m. at Tiranga Park, Aberdeen Bazar.
Prior to this, a mass procession of workers will be taken out in the Port Blair town which will start from Tiranga Park at 3.30 p.m. Mr. A.K. Padmanabhan, All India Vice President of CITU will inaugurate the Conference at the Open Session. Trade Union leaders will also address the Open Session. Workers from Port Blair and South Andaman areas in large number will participate in the procession and open session at Tiranga Park.
The Delegate Session of the Conference will be held on 17th November, 2019 at the Auditorium of Hotel ACC, Mohanpura, Port Blair. Delegates and Observers from the unions affiliated to CITU, representing thousands of workers across the union territory, will attend the Delegate Session. General Secretary, A & N State Committee of CITU will present the working report of the CITU since the last Conference in November, 2015. Treasurer, State Committee will present the Audited Accounts.
The new State Committee of the CITU will also be elected in the Conference. The Conference will discuss various issues concerning the working class in the islands and will adopt resolutions on such issues.
Mr. AK Padmanabhan will also address the Delegate Session on 17th November.
