Long Island, Oct 31: Yet again, doctor posted at Long Island, Primary Health Center was found missing when a critical patient was brought for an urgent treatment yesterday morning.
Luckily, the situation of the critical patient was anyhow handled professionally by the staff nurse and ward boy following which the patient’s life was saved and now the patient is under treatment at Rangat Hospital.
As per reports, the 50 year old patient, a fisherman by profession, while heading towards his home after selling fish, collapsed yesterday.
According to sources, he was then taken to his home and when his conditions worsen, he was taken to the Long Island PHC by his friend and other neighbors.
To the utter dismay of his friends and neighbors, they found that there is no doctor in the PHC, letting the staff nurse and ward boy to treat the critical patient. It is now learnt that the patient suffered BP attack.
After the necessary treatment, when the local friends of the patient tried to shift the patient to Rangat, they found the emergency boat that is located in the Long Island for shifting patients in case of emergency to Rangat was under repair.
This is not the first time when the doctor of PHC Long Island was missing at the time of need, earlier in the past also one Nicobari Tribal died because of the absence of a Doctor at PHC Long Island, Long Island public alleges.
One can imagine Long Island, the place, to which the administration is highly focused to make a tourist hub, is without a doctor.
Hopefully, the administration will post a responsible doctor permanently in the PHC Long Island to cater the population of the Island.
