Port Blair, Oct 23: Late. Mr. T Rama Rao, who fell from an electric pole yesterday and died on the spot at Swaraj Dweep Island, will probably be getting all the benefits that are equivalent to the benefits of a lineman, a senior most officer of the electricity department confirmed today.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the senior most officer of the Electricity Department, Port Blair, on the condition of anonymity said that Late. Mr. T Rama Rao, was having an experience of around 30 years in the field and was also a role model for others has already got the ACP and will be getting benefits, in fact more than a lineman.
The senior most officer, also said that a case has been registered under 304 IPC in this regard and once the area Inspector will send the report, it will go to the labor court/ labor commissioner for the quantum of the compensation to be paid to the deceased in respect to his left over service.
“In the meantime we the staffs are also contributing from our side to give some immediate relief to the deceased family tomorrow and we are trying to render the best possible service,” said the senior most officer.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that today morning relatives of the Late. Mr. T Rama Rao brought body of Late. Mr. T Rama Rao infornt of SAD office and demanded justice and adequate compensation. The relatives later took body to the cremation ground following positive assurances from the side of Electricity Department.
