Billyground, Aug 29: Thanks to the Monsoon and also the ongoing ATR up-gradation works by NHIDCL contractors, the entire North and Middle Andaman region is experiencing worth ATR conditions, in the history of Andaman Trunk Road.
The conditions are so bad that everyday nearby four to five ATR buses are suffering breakdown in Middle Andaman region, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded for hours and hours, amidst adverse weather conditions.
If heavy vehicles like passenger buses are getting so much damaged while crossing ATR, one could imagine how bad will be condition of light motor vehicles. Worst sufferers are daily commuters of ATR like school and college students as well as office goers.
People of North and Middle Andaman are now urging the Administration to talk to NHIDCL and find out a way to carryout ATR up-gradation work in well planned manner, like it was done in Port Blair to Ferrargunj area.
