Port Blair, Aug 18: Due to technical reasons the Air India flight AI 788 was grounded yesterday and subsequently it was declared as cancelled.
Around 129 passengers were about to proceed to Kolkata in the said flight but due to cancellation of the said flight 12 passengers reportedly cancelled their tickets, 23 local passengers left for their home and around 94 passengers are provided rooms in local hotels by the Airlines.
According to sources today engineering men and materials arrived from mainland and after rectification of technical sang, the grounded flight departed to Kolkata today at 0930 hrs with all stranded passengers.
