Port Blair, July 08: The Port Blair Municipal Council today started free Breakfast Scheme for sanitary workers of PBMC. This scheme was launched at 8:30 am at Khaitan Kalyan Mandap, Junglighat.
PBMC Chairperson, Mrs. Ansuya Devi, Secretary PBMC Sunil Anchipaka, Senior Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Protima Banerjee and others Councilors were present on this occasion.
As per reports, one thousand four hundred sanitary workers will be benefited from Free Breakfast Scheme. Addressing the gathering Senior Vice Chairperson, Protima Banerjee expressed her gratitude towards Secretary PBMC for thinking about the sanitary workers and keeping this proposal infornt of the Lt. Governor of A & N Islands and Chief Secretary of A & N Administration, from where this was immediately sanctioned.
PBMC Secretary Sunil Anchipaka said that the sanitary workers leave home in the early morning and most of the time they work in field, that’s why they do not get time to have their breakfast in the morning, which leaves bad impact on their health.
He said that this could be achieved with cooperation of the Lt. Governor, the Chief Secretary and help of all PBMC staffs viz Executive Engineer, Avinash Kr Singh, SC, H.M.Linga Raju, Senior Officer, Tivari, Junior Engineer, Mrs. Uma .
PBMC chairperson Ansuya Devi said that Prime Minister Modi has always thought about the poor person and because of this scheme sanitary workers will get breakfast on time.
