Port Blair, Jun 16: Ananda Puraskar awardee novelist of Bengali literature of 2019 Mr. Nalini Bera and veteran Bengali poet Mr. Shyamal Kanti Das (awarded by Vidyasagar Puraskar in 2018) have been felicitated by ‘Sonartori’ a cultural and literary organization of West Bengal recently on 13th June at ‘Shishir Manch’ auditorium of Kolkata at their ‘Bristiboron Asor’ (the welcome ceremony of Monsoon) where Bengali essayist and researcher Dr. Jyotirmoy Roychowdhury (HOD , Bengali , JNRM) , eminent novelist Mr. Tapan Bandyopadhyay, poet Saiad Kousar Jamal were invited as special guests and have been felicitated by memento, flower bouquet and uttariya as well as Chief guests of the function for their contribution to Bengali language and literature.
Dr. Roychowdhury highlighted on life and works of Kavi Shyamal Kanti in his speech while Mr. Tapan Bandyopadhyay spoke on Mr. Nalini Bera. Three new books of poems -‘Tor ki hobe re kobi’ by Rittwik Thakur , ‘Manusta manus hote cheyechhilo’ and ‘Jiboner shunyota chhuye’ by Nabagopal Choudhury, one book on Tagore ‘Anubhabe Rabindranath’ by Mrs. Shuktara Gupta and two literary magazines –‘Sonartori’ and ‘Baak’ published by Sonartori Publication have been Unveiled by the hands of distinguished guests of the function. Honoured literary personalities Shyamal Kanti Das and Nalini Bera also shared their personal experience with the Audience while spoke on their writings.
