Port Blair, Jun 04: Most prestigious prize for literature, art and culture given by any private organization of Murshidabad district of West Bengal is “Baasbhumi Patrika-CCAI award”. Distinguished Writers, poets, researchers, editors, artists from West Bengal and other states have been awarded by this prize for 2019 at Rabindra Sadan auditorium of Berhampore (W.B) recently on 1st June. Dr. Jyotirmoy Roychowdhury, H.O.D, Bengali, JNRM was invited at this programme as Chief Guest. President awarded artist Shilpaguru Ananta Malakar has presided over the function. In his speech Dr. Roychowdhury highlighted on glorious past of mid-Bengal beside cultural back ground of the host foundation Chandra Commercial and Art Institute established by renowned literary figure Mr. Arup Chandra.
This year renowned singer Mr. Pratul Mukhopadhyay, folklorist Dr. Aditya Mukhopadhyay and archaeological researcher Dr. Kali Charan Das have been honoured by life-time achievement award for their contribution in respective subjects. Poet and artist Naser Hossain, philologist of Barak valley, Assam Dr. Amalendu Bhattacharya and eminent mother tongue activist from Jharkhand Mr. Raj Kumar Sarkar have been awarded by ‘Baasbhumi Sahitya samman award -2019’. Mr. Debashis Saha, editor, ‘Chhapakhanar Goli’ and Mr. Swapan Chakraborty, editor, ‘Shis’ have been awarded by ‘Best Bengali little magazine -2019’ award. IN the year of 2012 ‘Baakprotima’ only ISSN Bengali literary magazine of Andamans edited by Mr. Anadi Ranjan Biswas was awarded by this prize. Dr. Jyotirmoy Roychowdhury has also honoured by ‘Baasbhumi Sahitya Samman-2018’ last year for his contribution in literature and research works.
