Port Blair, Apr 26: A fire was reported from MV Katchal vessel today from the indoor unit of an AC installed inside the crew cabin.
According to reports the crew members responded quickly when they noticed the fire and controlled the fire in no time but the Crew cabin suffered some damages.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, R. Veeriah, the Deputy Director Shipping Services said that the fire was minor and was controlled well on time by crew members. No one reportedly suffered any injuries in this case. The Ship was at repair berth of DSS and Annual maintenance was going on when this incident took place.
