Port Blair, Mar 11: For the first time in the history of Andaman and Nicobar Islands two youths from Andaman & Nicobar Islands have got commissioned in Indian Army from Officer Training Academy, Chennai.
Lt Priyanka GS is the first lady Army officer from Islands, who got commissioned in Signals Corps. Lt Shubham Shukla has got commissioned to Army Aviation Corps with Artillery fallback arm.
Both are alumni of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Port Blair. Both were BTech students, Shubham is from Civil and Priyanka is from ECE
Lt Priyanka, passed out from OTA Chennai on 10th of March, is born and brought up in Andaman. Daughter of Mrs G Shanthi and Mr P Gajendran and has one younger brother. Her Father is working in M.E.S and mother is a Home maker.
Lt Shubham Shukla, also passed out from OTA Chennai on 10th of March. A proud son of Dr.A.K Shukla, PGT Govt Model Senior Secondary School, Haddo and late Manjula Shukla.
Both the youths of Andaman have got commissioned on the same day from the same academy making history.
Congrats!!! for making our Islands pride. But how come, they are only DBRAIT student, since they also represents their schools and A&N Islands.
