Port Blair, Jan 17: On the occasion of Makar Sankranthi a cultural programme was organized by friends club on 15.01.2018 at Haddo (Ward No:2). Mr. Vishal Jolly, Member, HMAC was the Chief Guest and Mr. Indrapal Singh, Chairperson, PBMC and Mr. R. Someswara Rao, Councillor, ward No. 2 were the Guest of Honour on this occasion. The Chief Guest inaugurated the cultural programme by lighting the traditional lamp. Speaking on this occasion the Chief Guest greeted the Telugu Community a Happy and Prosperous Makar Sankranthi. He also added that the Telugu Community has contributed a lot in the development of A&N Islands. He also recalled the contribution made by the Telugu community. While addressing the gathering the Chairperson, PBMC Mr. Indra Pal Singh also greeted the Telugu Community on the eve of Makar Sankranthi. He appreciated the brilliant and blissful performance of the children and youth of the area. The Chairperson also congratulated Mr. R.Someswara Rao, Councillor, Ward No:2 for organizing such a colorful cultural programme to mark the Makar Sankranthi celebration. Mr. R. Someswara Rao, Councillor proposed vote of thanks to dignitaries, general public, youths and the children present on the eve.
