Port Blair, Jan 17: National Youth Day celebrated in a befitting manner by NSS Wing, at Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder on 12/01/2018 to mark the occasion of birth of the great leader of India: Swamy Vivekananda.
Various competition programmes conducted and the prize winners will be awarded, cash prize for first, second and third respectively. Earlier Dr. R V R Murthy, NSS Program Officer welcomed the gathering. In his welcome speech appealed the youth to draw inspiration from Swamiji and tirelessly work for the growth of the country.
On this occasion Chief Guest Dr. J.S. Manhas, Principal MGGC drew the attention that the sacrifices swamiji made during short journey of life will imbibe self-discipline values. Further he also appreciated Swamiji philosophy and appealed youth to draw inspiration from Swamiji thoughts. Nearly 150 students and NSS Volunteers attended the function. Cultural programme was presented by several students and subsequently performed a short story on the theme” Poverty: A Curse. Dr. R V R Murthy proposed vote of thanks.
