Port Blair, Jan 08: Due to total mismanagement and lack of foresight the electricity department is having severe shortage of power leading to multiple power cuts in entire South Andaman region.
Sadly even at this stage the hopeless department has failed to provide proper power cut schedule to public, because of which general public is unable to prepare themselves for long power cuts.
Islanders are now demanding that the Lt. Governor should intervene into this matter and put atleast a couple of top officers of Electricity Department under suspension, who have failed to plan proper power management in city, which has resulted in this major crisis. Presently, these officers are only passing all blames to SPCL, to hide their inability to manage the situation.
One questions that why we require so many officers in Electricity Department when there is no power in city.
Every area is witnessing multiple power cuts that too without any schedule. When contacted the EE of Electricity Department Mr. Jaidhar firstly did not pick up mobile for several times and when finally picked up the phone, he replied that such power cuts will be continued and he can’t do anything in this regard.
One questions if the massive Power Department can’t do anything in this regard then who else can do anything.
Public are also demanding a dynamic officer, at EE Electricity Headquarter post so that power crisis situation can be managed professionally.
The Power Secretary Mr. Sanjeev Khirwal must also intervene into this matter and ask all officers to remain available for public grievances as Government Departments are for public and by the public.
