Port Blair, Dec 27: A&N Administration is all set to celebrate 74th anniversary of First Flag Hoisting day on 30th December 2017 in a befitting manner ensuring participation of general public. The main function will be held at the Memorial of 30th December, opposite Andaman Club where Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, will hoist the National Flag at 8 am. On the occasion Lt. Governor will felicitate nine veteran Islanders who were members of Indian National Army and Indian Independence League, Andaman Branch. A large number of members of Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) will be attending the function. All citizens are requested to attend the function and be seated before 7:30 am on 30th December 2017.
The flag hoisting at 8:00 am would be preceded by laying of wreath at Martyr’s Column, Cellular Jail by Chief Secretary, A&N Administration at 7:50 am, laying of wreath at 1857 Memorial, Marina Park and Memorial of Battle of Aberdeen at 7:40 am as well as floral tribute at Netaji Statue, Marina Park at 7:30 am by Chairperson, PBMC.
