Port Blair, Dec 24: On 23 Dec 17, Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command received two requests for immediate medical evacuations of one civilian from Havelock Island and 02 civilians from Mayabunder at 0748 PM and 1050 PM respectively the first evacuation from Havelock a lady who met with a road traffic accident and sustained Head injury.
A MI-17 V5 helicopter of Indian Air Force took off from Port Blair at 2149 hours and evacuated the patient from Havelock and brought her to Port Blair at 2233 hours. Another evacuation was undertaken from Mayabunder where two patients with injury were evacuated at 0102hrs to Port Blair at 0241 hours.
Both the patients of Mayabunder were injured in Road Accident and the SHO PS Mayabunder, Mr. Aditya Narayan and District Administration of Mayabunder also played a major role in calling evacuation of the patients.
On arrival, all patients were shifted to GB Pant hospital for further treatment.
