Port Blair, Dec 24: Here is a good news for the Islanders, especially those, who are completely depended on Ferry vessels of harbour sectors for their transportation.
According to details, construction of four harbour sector vessels has been completed and all the four vessels have sailed from Goa for Port Blair.
As per reports, all the four vessels namely MV Sher Ali, MV Dugong, MV Paudak, MV Hornbill are on their way to Port Blair and it is expected that all this four vessels will reach Andaman by 1st or 2nd of January, 2018. However some sources said that the arrival date might also be 4th or 5th January as per weather conditions.
As per details, these boats have capacity of 150 passengers.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, a highly placed source in the Shipping Department said that these vessels will reach close to Sri Lanka on 28th December but still everything is subjected to weather conditions.
Islanders are anxiously waiting for the day when like these four vessels other bigger vessels for Inter-Island Sector will reach Andaman and Nicobar Islands and bring some relief for remote Islanders.
