Port Blair, Dec 15: In a major breakthrough, the Diglipur Police have worked out the recent theft attempt made at SBI ATM Diglipur and arrested one accused person namely Tanmoy Mazumder (27) yrs, R/o Shibpur, Diglipur. On 02/12/17, between 0110 hrs to 0145 hrs, taking advantage of non-availability of Security Guard at the ATM, one person wearing a raincoat had entered inside the SBI ATM room located within the premises of SBI Main Branch, Diglipur, covering his face with helmet and tried to unsuccessfully break the ATM. On this, a team of Police officials and personnel consisting of SI Somen Halder, SI Roshan George, SI Debrata Raha, HC/19 Ramesh Kishen, PC/903 Ganesh Ch. Das, PC/1316 Akash Ch. Bepari, PC/1330 Uttam Sarkar, HG(R)/80 Balakrishna & HG/225 Pradeep Singh, headed by SI V. P. Mishra SHO PS Diglipur, was constituted to nab the culprit. After dedicated efforts, the Police team succeeded in identifying the culprit and apprehended the accused on 09/12/17. The whole operation was monitored by Shri George Lalu, SDPO Diglipur under the overall supervision of Ms. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Distt.), N&M Andaman.
