Port Blair, Nov 22: Hundreds of people at Chatham Jetty today were deeply shocked when suddenly they saw one person jumping into the Sea and swimming into deep waters.
Nobody had any clue about the reason behind such act and hence police was immediately informed about this matter. Seeing public in panic the ferry which left Chatham also turned towards the man, who was swimming continuously but before ferry a fishing dinghy reached to the person and picked him up.
According to sources the man had tied an inflated tyre tube with his waist to make sure that he is safe, even if he is tired. Later the man after reaching Jetty reportedly said that he had planned to swim upto Ross Island for fun. He also added that he had no idea about how to return from Ross but he wanted to take a chance. He was also deeply annoyed with the dinghy operators, who had picked him up from the sea.
The name of the person is yet not known but it has been learnt that he is working as Labourer and came to Andaman nearly four months back from Chennai.
