Port Blair, October 12: The President of Kishan Morcha, Bhartiya Janta Party, Mr Jyotirmoy Bawali was arrested today by the Kadamtala Police Unit for allegedly insulting a Tribal Woman during a Public Meeting held at Mayabunder region on 16th May 2016.
According to reports, in the public meeting accused Jyotirmoy Bawali used a word against a woman in Bengali ‘Bono’ which means ‘Jungli’ following which the Tribal Woman registered a case against him.
As per sources, after a long investigation the case was finally established by the Kadamtala Police Unit and today after producing him at the District and Sessions Court, he was later released on Bail.
To maintain the law and order situation, security was also maintained in the court by the Andaman Nicobar Police.
