Port Blair, Sep 24: In pursuance of direction of Government of India SWACHHATA MISSION and upon instruction of Central WAQF Council, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Waqf Board is observing SWACHHATA WEEK from 17/09/2017 to 25/09/2017 at different Waqf Properties and at the Central Waqf Office. Special Programme on the said mission has been held on 23/09/2017 at the A & N Waqf Office as well as Mazar Dargah, Port Blair. The Chairperson of the Board Shri Mohammed Tabraiz alongwith other Members welcomed the Chief Guest on the occasion Shri Naresh Chander lal, an awardee of Padmashree and Ambassador of SWACHH BHARAT MISSION. Smti Yasmeen Begum, Member of the Board presented the Bouquet to the Chief Guest. At Mazar Dargah, The Ward Councilor Shri S N N Gregory attended the programme of SWACHHATA DAY and assured to construct a Toilet Block under the SWWACHHATA MISSION SCHEME at Mazar Dargah and also to construct the connecting footpath from the main road to the Dargah and Temple, as the large number of public visits the Dargah. The sapling of different plant were planted by the Chief Guest, Members and Officials of the Board. All the Mutawallies of Waqf Properties were instructed to organize similar programmes at their respective office premises to achieve the goal of the said mission. The compliance report from the different Mutawallies have also been received to this effect. The Board resolved to organize such programmes on regular basis to achieve the goal of SWACHHATA MISSION.
