Mayabunder Sep 07: A public meeting was organized at APWD Guest House Maybunder by the Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray and a committee from MHA headed by Mr. Vivek Rae Chariman, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Under Secretary MHA, Joint Secretary Revenue and Deputy Commissioner (SA) Mr. Udit Prakash IAS in connection with regularization of encroached govt. and forest land, compensation or allotment of land to left out tsunami submerged land under Andaman and Nicobar Island.
In the meeting a large number of general public and PRI’s of N&M Andaman attended. The views of public and PRI’s was listened by the team and has ascertained that team will submit the report within 2 months to the centre board.
However there was a great negligence in identifying a proper venue for the meeting as there were more than 1000 people from N&M Andaman district, who reached the venue to attend the meeting but the hall has very less seating capacity.
There was great anger among the general public and PRI’s that they were not given proper chance to listen or to express their views to the committee.
