Port Blair, July 23: A minor sparking was reported yesterday from the second floor of Secretariat corridor, which connects CS room with all chambers of Secretary Ranked officers. Sparking and smoke was reported at around 1.00 PM.
As per reports, sparking was seen in the MACB of the room following which the trained staffs of the Secretariat in controlling fire responded to the call and controlled the situation.
However, after the fire was controlled the matter was reported to the Fire Brigade following which a team of Fire Brigade reached the spot and completed the other formalities like cooling the room etc. It is learnt that the matter was later informed to the Andaman Public Works Department for repair.
