Port Blair, June 19: This is to inform for the benefit of all the islanders that a recognized two/three year Diploma/Certificate after 10th Class is treated as equivalent to 10+2 for admission to IGNOU’s academic programmes. Recognized Diploma/Certificate means, Diploma/Certificates awarded by State Board of Technical Education/Polytechnic/ITI and other Educational Institutions recognized by Central/State Govts/UTs.
The candidates having such qualifications can take admissions into different IGNOU academic programmes like BCA/BA/ BSC/BCOM/ BSW/BTS etc. for which the eligibility criteria are 10+2 or equivalent. The Student should submit the Mark list as well as Certificate of both 10th Class and ‘Diploma’ at the time of admission. The last date to apply for various academic programmes is 30th July 2012 without late fee and the prospectus are made available in all the IGNOU Study Centres at Port Blair, Mayabunder, Hutbay, Nancowrie, Campbell Bay, Car Nicobar.
