Port Blair, June 08: Here is a good news for the teachers of Government run schools, excellent performing teachers for the year 2016-2017 will be recognized by the Education Department soon and will be honored publicly by the Education Department.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Subhankar Ghosh, Deputy Director, Education Department said that the performance of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Secondary level is outstanding.
Andaman Nicobar Islands is 8% above the Nation wide overall performance with 99.45% pass percentage, therefore the Education Department has decided to motivate and encourage others, by honoring the best performed teachers publicly.
“Already the Department has spoken to the Principals, Vice Principals of various school in the islands and after taking the wholesome view the department has decided to take this step, the teachers will be recognized very soon for this honor,” Mr Ghosh said.
Mr Ghosh further said that not only the teachers even the Students who have given outstanding results will also be honored publicly as just because of their co-operation the Andaman Islands have secured such a good status.
However, Mr Ghosh said that there are some areas where improvement is required and the department will put all efforts for the improvement so that the Department overcomes from that in the coming years.
“The credit for this performance actually goes to the teachers and students and I would say that basically the teachers had been doing a wonderful job of periodical review of the performance of the student at the class and they have been giving their feedbacks and the process has been started almost two years back and the results are now there to see,” Mr Ghosh added.
