Port Blair, June 17: The Governor of Mizoram, Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman got a rousing welcome at Port Blair yesterday. He arrived at 12.00 noon on a four day visit to these islands. He is accompanied by his wife, Dr. Lilly Purushothaman. Hundreds of people were waiting outside the Port Blair airport’s arrival section to see and meet the former Lt. Governor of A & N Islands. In the evening, he visited National Memorial Cellular Jail and also attended a function at Sree Narayan Guru Mandir, VIP Road here.
This morning Mr. Purushotaman left for Havelock Island. Tomorrow, the Governor of Mizoram will attend a public reception ceremony organised by A&N State Cooperative Union at Teylorabad. He is also scheduled to meet the delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Raj Niwas on the same day.
The Governor of Mizoram, Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman will visit the Interpretation Centre at Wandoor and Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park in the morning. He will also attend a reception ceremony, organised by the Kerala Samajam here at its premises in the evening. On completion on his visit, the Governor of Mizoram will depart for mainland on June 20 2012.
