Port Blair, June 15: The Society for Environment Protection and Sustainable Development, Port Blair organized an environmental awareness cum sapling planting program at Swaraswati Shishu Mandir, Pathargudda.
Mr. Sanjay Meshack, Pramukh, Port Blair Panchayat Samiti was chief guest on this occasion and he expressed his happiness for conducting such a program and delivered message for the students and teachers on the importance of plants and greenery of the school campus. The Principal gave explanation regarding aforestation and advised all the students for maintaining the planted saplings in the campus.
Mr. PK Sikdar briefly highlighted on the importance of flora and fauna and their importance in maintaining ecological balance in A & N Islands. Nearly 100 students and teachers have participated in the program.
