
Port Blair, Mar 09: Senior social worker and Member of the Home Minister’s Advisory Committee, Mr. Hari Narayan Arora has been elected as the Chief Patron of the socio-cultural organisation, ‘Chetna’. The elections were conducted during the General Body meeting of ‘Chetna’ held on 3rd March, 2017 at the Conference Hall of Tagore College of Education here under the chairmanship of Dr. RN Rath.
Dr. JD Singh was re-elected as the President of ‘Chetna’. Besides, Mr. Basudev Das and Mr. BP Yadav were elected as Vice-Presidents, Mr. Durg Vijay Singh ‘Deep’ as General Secretary, Mrs. Rita Bannerji and Mrs. Renu Bala as Joint Secretaries and Ms. Kuldeep Kaur was elected as the Treasurer of the organisation.
Apart from these, Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Mrs.Geeta Naveen Bhatt, Dr.Manju Nair, Ms. Mumtaz Bano, Mrs. Kamalakshi, Mrs. K. Suma, Mr. Rajesh Kumar ‘Nirash’, Mr. Narayan Singh, Mr. Naveen Chander Das, Mr. A. Peter Raj, Mr. Dinesh Singh and Mr. Arun Kumar Sigh were elected as Executive body members.
The newly-elected Chief Patron assured all possible support to the organisation. The President, Dr. JD Singh exhorted the organisation to reach out to the Nicobarese tribal community and carry out programs for them at Car Nicobar.
