Port Blair, June 13: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President of Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed gratitude towards the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for expediting the construction of a bridge at Swadesh Nagar.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, Mr. Sharma said that this will fulfill the long pending demands of the residents of Middle Andaman. It will enable safe movement of commuters and vehicles who use the bridge for their travel and transportation upon completion.
Further, he brought to the notice of the Lt. Governor of the issue of another bridge in the same area namely Dhuratang Brigde, a wooden structure which is in dilapidated condition and unsafe for movement of commuters and vehicles alike. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma requested the Lt. Governor for the immediate construction of Dhuratang Bridge in RCC as it would be more durable and safe for the general public.
